Reasons for the new picking order proposal
- Every year, the some of the people who pay the most for tickets end up eating the least desirable few games (usually day games on weekdays that are hard to make).
- Every year, the people who buy the least tickets end up with much better than average games.
- Given the responses to the newly available tickets this year, it is clear that no member really wants more than 16 tickets these days.
- If I (Pete) just took the last set of four, I could combine those for tickets (let's call them "Pete2" tickets) with Jen's 4 and James' 8 tickets, and treat these together as if they were one additional 16 ticket person like the others -- i.e. with one pick per round.
- I would be content to have Pete2's pick always be in the last round (I just don't want it right next to my other picks so that some years I end up with the worst THREE games)
- Since James buys twice as many tickets as Jen, it seems fair to give him the first and third round picks each year, and Jen the second round.
All this would lead to the following picking order this year:
| Round 1 | James | Pete | Rich | Dave | Jo |
| Round 2 | Jo | Dave | Rich | Pete | Jen |
| Round 3 | James | Pete | Rich | Dave | Jo |
| Round 4 | Jo | Dave | Pete2 | Rich | Pete |
This still leaves Jen and James with better than average tickets and never having to eat the worst games, but it brings them a little more close to average.
